My Spirit Animal
Over the years, my Turtle Spirit Guides frequently appeared. Little did I know they would stay by my side for many years as a friend and guide on my spiritual journey reminding me of my inner strength during some tough times: Reminding me I have the perseverance and stamina to endure the darkest of nights: Reminding me to delve into the depths of my soul, and listen to the unwavering wisdom of the universe guiding me to surrender, and ride the wild currents until their relentless controlling grip is released, all the while whispering in my ear “this too shall pass.”
Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way on the journey we call life.

Home is Within Us
“Home is here, no matter where we go.”
The turtle carries her trusty protective home upon her back, reminding us that home is within. This powerful message helps us know everything we need is within us, and whatever we are searching for has been in us all along.
Commitment + Determination
“Slow and steady. Committed and determined, no matter how slow, leads to a rewarding life.”
The turtle is unhurried, without worry. She takes each moment as it comes, honoring the natural rhythm of life. She embraces the journey rather than focusing on the destination. Each moment has something for us to appreciate. All good things come to those who have patience. Success is not about being the fastest; it’s about committing to whatever is going on at the time. Life’s journey is about presence. It’s about letting go of attachment to the outcome and simply being aware of what is happening around you, trusting that if you give yourself to the situation, your spiritual stamina will yield the perfect results for your journey.
In other words, “Just Keep Swimming!”
Wisdom
“Trust your innate ancient wisdom.”
Turtles retain incredible wisdom. They are one of the longest-existing creatures on the planet. Throughout the ages, they’ve witnessed unimaginable changes and shifts upon this precious Earth, observing the most challenging of times. So if a turtle shows up in your life, perhaps it’s an invitation to trust your intuition as you navigate through life.

“Standing the test of time.”
OK, let’s talk about longevity! We know they are one of the oldest beings to have lived on this Earth. They’ve outlived the dinosaurs and have been here at least 220 million years. But did you know a typical turtle can live up to 80 years? While larger species can live over 100 years! And, of course, my favorite, the Sea Turtle, has the longest lifespan, up to 152 years.
Now that’s longevity!
